Using Answertree

Once you've created a project, it's time to start answering questions and collaborating with your team! Answertree has many tools and AI helpers to make this process as efficient as possible.

First Pass

The first step in completing a project is to run the first pass tool over the document. This will traverse the document using AI and follow the instructions you give it when it runs. By default, it will:

  • Suggest answers to questions where it's found a good match to a Q&A in the Knowledge Base

  • If it can't find a good Q&A match it will look in any documents stored in the Knowledge Base. If there is useful data within these, it will generate a new answer for you to review

Assigning Questions

Once the first pass has run, you should have a good idea about how much work is left to complete the project. The next step is typically to assign questions to your team.

In the example below, we've navigated to the 'List' view and then selected a number of questions to assign. You can also set the Reviewer using the same method.

Users will be alerted via email as questions are assigned to them.

Opening the Question Dialog

In the List view and Board view, just click on a tile to open the Question Dialog.

In the split view, you can click on the question list on the right of the screen to scroll down to the answer tile within the document. Clicking the answer tile will open the Question Dialog. You can also double click on the question on the right of the screen to open the dialog directly.

Answering Questions

The Question Dialog provides a host of tools to help you collaborate on answers with your team. When you open the dialog for the first time, Answertree will provide it's suggestion at the bottom of the dialog. This might be a matching Q&A or generated content (if it's found content to use in your Knowledge Base). You can accept and then amend this suggestion or cancel it and search / compose your own answers.

Some of the features available are:

  • Search: Search your Knowledge Base. You can drag content from your search directly into the Question Dialog, or click into them for more options.By default the search will find any matches to your question, but you can change the search / filters at the top of the search dailog.

  • Copilot: Our AI Copilot provides writing helpers including 'Rephrase in Context' which will reword your answer to match the context of the question and 'Help Me Write' which will let you enter your own prompt

  • Comments: Comment and reply with your team

  • Spelling and Grammar: This comes as standard and works inline

Answers are saved as you type. Once you've finished working on answer, you can click the 'Next Best Action' button in the bottom right of the dialog to move the question onto the next stage. This might send it to the reviewer or set it to complete depending on it's current state.

Exporting

You can export your document at any time. Click on the Export menu and select an option:

  • Export into Original: Will export a Word or Excel file with your answers completed

  • Export into New Word File: Will generate a new Word file with your questions and answers only
